Brief Description: Trim windshield and countersink
Trimmed the aft end of the windshield using a Harbor Freight cutout tool (item 42831) which is like a handheld router. I used a Dremel router type bit in the tool. Some scrap material was clamped to the bottom of the tool that could ride along the edge of the windshield bow strap, offset the required 3/8". Made a couple of cuts, with increasing depth, until I had cut about 90% through the plastic. I then removed the windshield and used a Dremel cutoff blade to trim through the remaining 10%. Finished the edge with a light pass of a Vixen file which gave it a smooth finish.
Countersunk the fore and aft screw locations for the A3135-8 countersunk washers.
I need to adjust the bend on the side skins to follow the taper or the windshield. The forward portion need more of a bend than the aft end. A few degrees overbend is good as it provides a nice tight fit along the windshield. After bending, I can dimple the skin, countersink the windshield and updrill for the screws.
